Why We Need to Increase Our Intelligence (IQ)

The human brain has the ability to achieve complex things and it continues to astonish scientists through out the world. However, what is confusing is that the vast majority of the human population is not able to learn the fundamentals of success, prosperity, fulfillment and happiness.

There is something called the 80/20 rule. It states that 80% of world’s wealth is held by a much smaller percentage of the population, which equates to 20%.

Did you know that the average person will increase their salary by 2 -3% annually? However, inflation increases by the same amount per year. So what does that mean? It means that it’s virtually impossible for the average person to get ahead.

On the other side of the coin, top achievers increase their salary by an average of 11% annually and double their income every 3 – 5 years.

Now what is it about the top achievers in our world? What are they doing and/or know that the average person doesn’t?

Well there are two common threads that exist in all top achievers.

First, they are constantly learning, while others continue to hold on to their out of date, old ideas. The top achievers are continually thinking of new ways to think, act and improve their lives and their performance personally and professionally. They thrive on acquiring knowledge and new skills. Therefore, they become better managers, leaders, negotiators, diplomats, athletes and business leaders. So the number one common denominator that exists in all successful people is continuous learning. Put in another way, they simply will do things that the unsuccessful or low achiever will refuse to do.

Second, they are constantly connecting. They associate themselves with like minded individuals to share common goals. They understand to be great, they need to associate themselves with the great ones. Brian Tracy says “the greatest success principle in history is to learn from the experts. You’ll never have enough time to learn it on your own.’ This association is often referred to as Mastermind Groups. All success has it roots in learning from someone or some other source.

So when you look at your life, what are you doing to increase your Intelligence (IQ) in any area of your life? Who are you associating with on a daily basis?
