The Communion of Intimacy group is about exploring, discovering and experiencing the connection between people. Intimacy is often misconstrued as being based in sex.
While it certainly can be an intrinsic part of a sexual relationship, intimacy has a much broader and deeper meaning, much of which has been lost or squelched in our society. Many of us were raised with a rather puritanical influence that lumps intimacy into the sexual category and therefore labels it "Bad".
Even if you were raised in a family who showed affection openly, the underlying message in our society is that sex and intimacy are not acceptable in public and only somewhat in private.
There are many ways to explore and develop intimate relationships that may or may not involve sex.
Our souls long for it. We often feel so alone and have no idea how to reach out to others or feel safe doing so. In this group we will have the opportunity to explore intimacy in a safe and loving environment. Take a chance. Keep it real.
